“Asthitvam” is a rare and unique NGO that is working towards Spoken Telugu Language. It is the most represented and active Social Service Society founded and registered under Registrar of Societies, Hyderabad, on 14th August, 2015.
- Asthitvam has a President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Joint Secretary, Executive Members and Advisory Members.
- There are two Executive members and four Advisory Board members.
- The members belong to different walks of life and work in unison towards the Objectives of Asthitvam.
- Prior to its registration in 2015, Asthitvam as a movement had taken a range of activities for the Students in villages adopted by its President both in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
- Asthitvam is a group of like-minded and highly motivated individuals.
- It works on the lines that were set by Swami Vivekananda.
The areas where Asthitvam works are:
- To organize events like Essay Writing, Fancy Dress, Rangoli, Drawing, Singing etc. enhancing our Culture and Heritage. This program was initiated in the year 2015.

- Asthitvam conducts this Competition on the occasion of Telugu Matru Basha Dinotsavam to promote Telugu Language.
- The aim of conducting Competitions is to retain our Language, Culture and Heritage.
- To initiate the thought process towards ones Mother Tongue.
- To promote learning of Telugu as a language and retain it to glorify our identity.
- Enhance communication skills in Telugu.
- These competitions ignite the young minds to introspect and enhance the following skills:

- Need for the activity
- There are a huge number of people belonging to both the Telugu Speaking States who could not read and write Telugu.
- Many families being educated in English Medium Educational Institutions communicate among themselves in language that doesn’t belong to them.
- There is a dire need to carry forward the legacy of Mother Tongue/Language to the next generations.
- Asthitvam strongly believes in promoting Telugu as ‘vaduka basha’.
- The topic for the Essay Writing Competition is “మనిషి జీవితంలో మాతృ భాష ఒక ప్రముఖత.”
- Every year till date the topic remains the same.
- At the end of each Competition Students are given Participation Certificates and winners are given Prizes.
- Asthitvam’s activities are primarily spread over Telangana and are now expanded to 12 districts.
- 2500 students have participated in Essay Writing Competition.

- Empowerment of Women: Felicitation of Women on Women’s Day, Ugadi and Mother’s Day. Appreciation and recognition program was initiated in the year 2016.

- Encouraging them to enhance their abilities and promoting them.
- Recreation and relaxation play an important role in everyone’s life it keeps one’s mind with enriched thoughts and motivates to achieve their goal.

- There are many instances of women and young girls being snubbed and not encouraged to enhance their skills.
- Lack of confidence and motivation was seen in many young women.
- Creating opportunities and working to achieve goals was not focused.
- There are many women achievers in various fields in our country.
- There are talented young women who wanted a platform to explore their hidden talents.

- Asthitvam has supported talented young women like Ms. Lavanya-Powerlifter to become the Strongest Women of Asia twice in 2016 and 2017.
- Cash of Rs.5 lakhs was extended as support by Mr. Vengala Prasad-MLA on recommendation by Asthitvam to Ms. Lavanya.

- Asthitvam State Awards. This programme was intiated in the year 2017.

- Asthitvam rightly felt the need for recognition of people who are working towards Vaduka Bhasha-Telugu.
- The Committee decided to give “Asthitvam State Awards” on International Mother Tongue Day every year.
- The first Award event was organized at Shri. Marri Krishna Reddy Hall, Tarnaka.
- The aim of giving Awards is to showcase unsung, gifted and unrecognised talents.
- The sanmana patram was designed by Shri. Abdul garu.
- It is a fact that Telugu as a language is alive in the form of songs. Hence Asthitvam rightly felt the need to award Lyricists who wrote songs depicting our culture, heritage, ethics and values that are needed for the present society.
- To promote people working towards Telugu as a language.
- Recognise the effort and dedication of people working towards the society, Music Director, Singer, Journalist, NGOs, Child Prodigy, Children’s Magazine, Educative Magazines, Special Awards for people working in different areas.
- Need for the activity
- There are a huge number of people belonging to Telugu Speaking States who have contributed their share in form of writings, singing, music, drama, education, safety, social work, environment, etc., who need to be appreciated for their work.
- Contributions in the field of Lyric Writing, Singing, Music Direction and Journalism were initially appreciated.
- Asthitvam started appreciation of Short Films and Full Length Movies with theme of Social Cause and other areas from 2018 onwards.
- There is a dire need to appreciate people, as identifying and facilitating talent always gratifies their spirits as it is a motivation to enhance their contribution and inspires them to continue.

- Asthitvam has till date honoured 72 individuals with State Level Awards and 48 individuals with National Level Awards.

- There are many writers, poets, etc in both the Telugu Speaking States and they need a space to be projected.
- Work Done
- Asthitvam published a book in 2017 with hundred poems. The poems written by hundred poets on the importance of Telugu as a Language.
- The book was titled TELUGE OKA VELUGU.
- Book was released during Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu-World Telugu Conference both at Lalitha Kala Thoranam and Telugu University in December 2017.
- It was released again on International Mother Tongue Day-2018 and the hundred poets were felicitated at Ravindra Bharathi.
- Book release of NEE KOSAM written by Smt. Prabha Sastry garu was done on 24th March, 2018.
- Book release of Sri Venkateshwara Padha Satakam by Shri. Laxmiah Garu was done on 4th July, 2018.
- Book release of ‘Passi Moggalu’ written by Smt. Yelamarthy Anuradha was done on 22nd December, 2019.
- Book release of “Bala Manjeeralu” – written by Smt. P. Surya Sreekala was done on 29th August, 2021.

- There was lack of awareness pertaining to Legal Rights, Schemes and Information.

- Asthitvam starting working with District Legal Services Authority-DSLA- City Civil Court, Hyderabad.
- Asthitvam was given a stall in the Legal Awareness Module.
- Smt. C. Manjula. Gour-President Asthtivam was assigned the role of Trainer for Communication Skills for Para Legal Volunteers.
- Asthitvam participated in Legal Services Module organised by Telangana Legal Services and District Legal Services Authority, City Civil Court, Hyderabad.
- Six members from Asthitvam got trained as Para Legal Volunteers for Telangana State Legal Authority at District Legal Services Authority, City Civil Court, Hyderabad.
- Under the leadership of Honourable Judge Shri G.Sudershan, Legal Aid Clinic was opened at Bapu Nagar Community Hall, Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar, Hyderabad.

- Asthitvam has counselled and addressed 200 cases on domestic violence, disputes, etc. in 2019.
- Participated in Legal Awareness Camp for Senior Citizens at West Marredpally.

- 100 Medical Kits consisting of Multivitamins, B-complex tablets, Fast Relief, Sanitizer and Mask were prepared and distributed to Poor farmers and Women constables at the Rythu Bazaar: policemen at check-post and people on street along with District Legal Services Authority-DLSA, Hyderabad in 2020.
- Till date Asthtivam has conducted 100 Legal Awareness Camps in Hyderabad Districts.
- Asthitvam is presently engaged in the task of bring about awareness of Thalassemia, Girl Child Safety and Legal Rights.
- Asthitvam enables girl child to gain confidence, self-esteem and self-worth for those who have found themselves in difficult situation in their personal lives.

- The culture of Oldage Homes is a threat to our nation and there is a need to bridging the gaps between Senior Citizens and children to strengthen the bonding.

- Asthitvam has moved a step ahead to collaborate with Engineering Technical Institutes like CMRCET as a partner in their Academic Projects by Students’ and signed a MOA with CMRCET for Engineering Projects in Community Services-EPICS on 5th February 2019.
- Asthitvam is working towards ‘Gender Equality’ by supporting, mentoring and guiding young men and women who have landed themselves into trouble through legal advice.
- The concept of igniting the young minds by guiding/suggesting suitable projects and supporting the students in their preferred projects is the work of NGOs and in respect with this students’ from Rodo Mistry College and ISB join Asthitvam as Interns.
- The challenge of shaping the youth through Legal Awareness and extending support whenever needed is over whelming and enterprising at the same time.
- Awareness on safety and not becoming a prey to trafficking are done in Working Women/Men hostels. They in turn educate the new beneficiaries on Sexual Harassment and Abuse.
- Asthitvam organized Seminars on Farming Technology, Skill Development, Rain Water harvesting and Job Fair in Chodavaram and Vaddadi villages of Andhra Pradesh.
- It has started a new Sub-Committee at Warangal in 2018.
- Asthitvam along with Prerana Foundation Warangal established 21 libraries in Schools in Warangal.
- It also worked with Prerana Foundation and Lions Club to establish a Mobile Library in Warangal under the leadership of Shri. Ashok Thirunagari- President of Asthitvam- Warangal.
- Asthitvam has signed an Memorandum of Agreement with VATA Foundation to work towards Establishment of 25 Libraries in Yavatmal District of Maharashtra.
